Qantas Founders
Museum
A world-class museum and cultural display, eloquently telling the story of the founding of Qantas through interpretive displays, interactive exhibits, replica aircraft and an impressive collection of genuine artefacts. Australian Age
of Dinosaurs
Australian Age of Dinosaurs Ltd (AAOD) is a not for profit organisation located in Winton, Queensland. The organisation’s activities include the operation of the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum of Natural History which holds annual dinosaur digs in the Winton Formation of western Queensland and oversees the year-round operation of Australia’s most productive dinosaur fossil preparation laboratory.

Stagecoach Tour
Enjoy a stagecoach ride through Longreach town and then a gallop through the bush along a stretch of the old mail route between Longreach and Windorah. Cobb & Co pioneered stagecoach travel in Australia and this award-winning ride gives a realistic glimpse of what the pioneers experienced. Starlight’s Cruise
Experience
Board the only paddle wheeler west of the Great Divide or the historic Thomson Princess Riverboat and enjoy a gentle cruise down the majestic Thomson. We go ashore for a traditional stockman’s camp-fire dinner, followed by bush poetry with a local outback storyteller. Next, the bush is illuminated by the Starlight’s Spectacular Sound & Light Picture Show – capturing the adventures of notorious cattle thief, ‘Captain Starlight’.
Camden Park Station
Sunset Tour
Enjoy a personalised tour of Camden Park Station. Explore the historic homestead where Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip visited for morning tea. Take in the expansive view from the verandah and capture the experience of outback life. Visit a circa 1920 shearing shed and gain an insight into the history of grazing in the Outback on this extensive station tour. Enjoy nibbles at sunset, under the stunning outback sky.
Outback Stockman’s
Show
The live Outback Stockman’s Show is a tribute to the skills of past and present stockmen – a true depiction of the unique quintessential Australian character. The daytime shows run Saturday - Thursday from 11am and the evening shows run Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sunday nights with bar opening at 5:30pm and show from 6.00pm. Scenic Flight with
Queensland Helicopters
Come aboard and view the spectacular scenery that the Outback has to offer. You will be truly amazed by the flat vastness and beauty of the country. Queensland Helicopters offers you a fantastic 10 minute scenic flight around Longreach and over the Thomson River. You will see the famous Stockman’s Hall of Fame and of course the Qantas Museum and static aircraft display Boeing 737 and 707 at the Longreach airport.

Imagine a classroom more than twice the size of Victoria, where the playground is as vast as the outback and the partnership between home and school is legendary. Join a one hour guided tour of the Longreach School of Distance Education where you’ll watch a ‘live’ on-air lesson with their students and teachers and gain an insight into distance education in the bush.
Longreach Powerhouse
Museum
Step back in time with a visit to Australia’s largest rural generating station. Electricity was first generated from this site in 1921. The first engines were Ruston & Hornsby charcoal gas units powering DC generators via a belt drive and the gas was produced on site using locally made charcoal. Also see the Social History Hall housing a small collection of Longreach social history.

Harry’s Restaurant and Bar is named after local Legend, Harry Redford, also known as Captain Starlight. Catering to a range of palates we offer a contemporary Australian menu. Our fine food dishes are created using fresh, seasonal produce and can be expertly matched with wine from Harry’s Bar. The restaurant is located at Longreach Motor Inn.
